Peloton Musique
One day many many years ago. We sat at Aron Schoppert's house, watching the tour de france. Peloton. The group of bicycle riders who make up most of the race. There are some who pull ahead of the pack, but the teams supporting those leaders are a part of the Peloton. Peloton Musique is kind of like that. We are in it for the team to win it. If one of us pulls ahead, the rest are still right there.
Aron, Shane and Eli formed an LLC and began looking for musicians to make music from a bicycle themed sample pack. The response was overwhelming. There were more than 60 songs submitted and while they were all great in their own ways, we whittled it down to 21 tracks which would make up our first release, Bicycles Are Your Friends. Since then, Joris Kamma has joined the team and contributes regularly as a musician and a partner. As we continue to collaborate with more and more artists and musicians, we will continue to share right here on this website and also on our SoundCloud page. For now check out our growing podcast section as well as our releases.

Taking Flight is metaphor for label’s rise from previous major release 2xLP Bicycles Are Your Friends, a mix for the street. It also serves as a pseudo-narrative for Secret Life of Birds, our upcoming collaborative theme and sample set based around field recordings of our feathered friends.

We produced a sample kit comprised of pump blasts, spoke plucks, brake compresses and sprocket click-clacks, then asked the best producers from the Pacific Northwest and around the world to create tracks that reflect the spirit of the peloton – a team of cyclists that rides together, conserving energy and functioning as an integrated unit.
